I am not as stressed now. I am done with my second job and school is almost out (1 more day of class and then my final next week!) It is nice having time to just relax and to have time to bake and clean and do the normal things I didn't have time for.

Shaun has found some people to do work for and that has been nice. Hopefully this new guy he is working with will turn into a lot of work!

I am going to the symphony with my mom this friday and I am actually REALLY excited. They are doing musicals (which I of course LOVE!!) So it should be a fun time!

That for some reason people think it is so hard to get your name changed on your social security card. I am doing taxes today with my grandpa and the last 2 clients we had come in got married last year and neither one of them have got their name changed with SS, because, as on of the clients said "it's just too hard..." Umm okay.. I am not sure what is hard about filling out a piece of paper and going and waiting to have someone look at form and saying its okay... Maybe the waiting at the office is the hard part? I don't know... When I went I thought it was a pretty easy process, that took maybe 45 minutes at the most... but oh well... What do I know right?

Target

I am REALLY REALLY annoyed with them right now. Today I tried to return a gift that we had got (yes I know I got married 6 months ago- yesterday- but we got the present late and just recently decided to return it)  that I thought they stock. Before the lady even checked it see if was an item they stocked she made me go try printing a paper off of my registry. Well my register is apparently no long in the system (at least at the store) or I tried calling the help number they have listed. They pretty much were no help after spending 20 minutes on the phone with them... The best part is, and by this time I am REALLY annoyed, that the lady says we can see what we can get on your license. She goes to scan the item and then informs me that its not even and item that they stock!!!! Why couldn't see have checked this for me 25 minutes ago?!?!?!?! Needless to say I will not be registering at Target when I have a baby and I will recommend to all those that I know who are getting married to not register there. Bed Bath and Beyond were SO much nicer about returning things!

Work

  • Feb. 2nd, 2009 at 9:48 PM
Wondrously wrong
Lately has been REALLY REALLY slow. Most nights after the day HUC leaves I just sit and play around on the computer, like I am doing tonight. Last night I even when home 2 1/2 hours early. Needless to say it has sucked. During they day, of the most part, think stay pretty constant, but not at night.

Monday I was an hour last for work, because I got stuck on the freeway. The freeway shutdown completely for about 45 minutes due to a car accident involving 4 vehicles. I was literally parked on the freeway. It was lots of fun... or something like that.

Hopefully think will pick up at work soon. I am starting to work on taxes again so that should keep me busy.

Orange Alicia
This week (minus not getting to spend much time with my hubby) has been pretty good. On Tuesday I found out that I don't have to take my lab class for physiology this semester! And then today I had time in between school and work I had sometime so I decided I would just swing by Best Buy and look around for a few. I went to look to see if by some miracle of a chance they had Wii Fit and THEY DID!!! I was way excited! I have been looking for it for a while now and I FINALLY have it!! I can't wait to go home a play with it! (This probably won't happen until tomorrow... Since I work until midnight)

Oh and tomorrow I get to go to the Draper Temple open house!

I am alive I promise!

Falling Star Alicia
I know it has been forever since I lasted posted on here, but things have been a little busy for me lately... So here is a little update while I have a few minutes.

Shaun and I are really liking it in Riverton. I love the area we live in and the ward we are in is great. Shaun and I both have a calling. We are teaching primary... The 9 year old who are turning 10... It is definitely an adventure. We have a boy in our class who is definitely a handful.. Hopefully as the year goes on things will get better.

I am still working at I-Med as a HUC and a Tele Tech. IHC is building a new hospital in Riverton, which is supposed to be done this fall, so I am hoping to get a job there because it is so much closer to my house.

I also started school again this semester. I am talking physiology again. Hopefully it will go well...

That is about my life. I am loving being married. Shaun is an AMAZING guy! He makes me completely happy!

I will try being better about updating this... I will try REALLY hard I promise =)

Last night I was washing dishes, well the first item of the batch and I cut my finger. It started bleeding pretty bad so I ran to the bathroom to run it under water and see how bad it was. I think I freaked Shaun out a little bit, but he was really cute about the whole situation. After looking at it closer we decided that I should go get it looked at. We were able to get right in at Instacare and ended up with 3 stitches on my index finger on my right hand.  Fun for me... or not :)

We moved :)

Grey's Anatomy: Family
I know I haven't posted about this, but Shaun and I moved to Riverton :). A lot of you will know this from my facebook statuses, but yeah. I just thought I'd posted it on here.

We loaded up the moving box on friday and by the time we got it loaded it was to late to unload it at the new place, plus we didn't have any help other than my dad and it would have taken WAY too much time for us to just do it. So we got a hold of a few friends and family members and then ward members came over (our landlord got a hold of the Elders quorum and they were there in 20 minutes. That TOTALLY amazed me :) ). We had the truck unloaded with in an hour! It was AWESOME!

Yesterday we went to sacrament meeting and then came home, because Shaun got called into work and was there until 7:30 AM. I ended up spending most of the day unpacking things in the kitchen so we got to actually have dinner! It was nice having everything unpacked.

Anyhow... I really like the new place! I will have to post pictures when I get everything organized.

Body World 3: The Story of the Heart

Fall leaves
Was AWESOME!!! Shaun and I went on a date last night and ended up going and seeing the exhibit! I would TOTALLY recommend it. For me, who is in the medical field and studying nursing, it really helped me understand things that I have learned in class so much more.

One of the parts of the exhibit that I thought that we REALLY cool was the about the growth process of a fetus! I showed the fetus at different weeks and it was amazing to see that growth that takes place from week to week. They have one that is 9 weeks old and you can see it's little fingers and toes and eyes. I thought it was cool. I also thought that it was cool to see how much growth happens from week 9 to 18.

Sorry I could probably go on and on about it, but yeah needless to say it was AWESOME!! You should totally go. It is here in SLC until January.

that I am going to have another niece in February... Not that I will ever get to see her in more that pictures and on family vacation every 2 years... This will be the fourth child for Shaun's oldest brother.  Their oldest son just turned 4 in July and the youngest turned one this year. Needless to say all of the kids are REALLY close together. Definitely something I couldn't do, but Kari (my sister-in-law) seems to love it.

Sign of a Good Book
So I just finished the Twilight series (I thought it was good... but not something I could read over and over again...) and I am starting to read Wicked (I thought it would help me understand the music and the story better before I go to see it when it comes here to SLC), but I am not sure what to read after I am done with Wicked... Any ideas? or a better question... What are some books you have enjoyed?

I wish that was what I was doing right now, but no I'm not. Since getting married my body has decided that it doesn't need sleep or something, because most nights I don't get very much sleep at all... I need to see if my MIL can work on me (she is a massage therapist) and see if that helps, because I REALLY need to get more sleep

The Big Day!!

  • Aug. 13th, 2008 at 9:24 PM
Roses
Sorry I haven't gotten around to posting about my wedding. Things have been a little hectic since we got home last week & with trying to get my apartment all organize (which it's not even close to being...) I haven't taken the time to sit down and  write about the big day.

The events all started friday. I went to lunch with my mom and my MIL. Then we headed off to get manicures and pedicures. It was fun and really relaxing which was nice. Then that night we had our rehearsal dinner at Cowboy Grub. We had about 60 people there. It was nice to have everyone there. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves (well everyone except one table who had someone get sick.... yeah I wouldn't have enjoyed it either...)

Saturday started out around 10 when we started setting up for the reception. We found out that we had been shorted table clothes and that they had sent some wrong linens. Shaun was supposed to come help setup, but he didn't end up showing up so that made me upset, but luckily there were enough people there to help get it set up for quickly.  After getting all setup I had to head to South Jordan to get my hair done (which turned out cute and they didn't charge me to do it!). When I got done there I heading back home to do my make up and then to head to the bank to get money for my florist. Then it was off to meet the florist at the church to get my flowers (which turned out good... for the most part). Then to his uncles house to have her put the flowers on my cake, which she just had to show me what to do with them since my cake hadn't showed up when she needed to leave. [info]jenderelly was nice enough to put on my cake for me. Thanks Jen!. Then it was time to get dressed, which I ended up having to do at the church because his brother got in the shower in the room that I was going to get dressed in (his brother and sister in law were staying at his uncle house because they were getting ready to move to Seattle and no longer had their apartment. Anyhow..). So we all jumped in a car (my mom, my MIL, and my aunt Cindy) and headed to the church to get ready. My mom dropped us off so that she could finish getting ready (she ended up getting a speeding ticket on the way back...). So my MIL and my aunt Cindy helped me get dressed. After some work we got me in my dress and I was ready to get married... At least I thought...

My aunt Brenda had stayed at the house to wait for Granite to get there with the cake and some of the refreshments. At 4:15 when she had left to head over to the ceremony the cake was still not there. We called and the truck had broken down... Not cool... By the time we got back to the house it was there, but it still makes me mad that they were so late getting it there.

Then there was the fact that my mom still wasn't back. She did finally show up and as they went to pin her corsages onto her the rose fell onto the floor and the bottom on the rose was all black.. Not happy about that either...We ended up stealing my grandma's so that we could have one that looked nice.

Oh and then my photographer was late. We were all ready to walk in the room when I realized that I hadn't seen my photographer yet... So I started to freak out... Luckily by the time that we decided that we were going to have his brother take the pictures she showed up... Another things that freaked me out, but worked out in the end...

The ceremony was now beginning. Shaun and my bishop walked in. My parents walked in. Shaun's parents walked in. Then I realized that I didn't have Shaun ring. It was still sitting in my bag in the room I had gotten dressed in. So I race into the room to find it and of course, because I am in a hurry I can't find it! I know that I have put it in there so I keep looking and finally I found it. By this time my dad was back and ready to escort me in and was wondering what I was doing... I told him and he understood. Then my bishop welcome everyone and here comes the bride starts to play and I started to walk down the aisle. The ceremony was really nice. We had our dad say a few words and the bishops say a few words and then we were married! It was short and sweet! My dad started to cry when he was speaking, which made me cry, but I know it's because he loves me and just wants the best for me.

The reception was really nice. A lot of people came and luckily the weather stayed nice. We cut the cake and throw the bouquet and garter and then we were up stairs getting ready to head to Logan for the weekend. There were a few people that came after we had changed and then we were on our way to gets Shaun's car so we could head to Logan.

Shaun had packed the 4-Runner at the data center for the company that he is currently working for so that no one would decorate it. But don't you worry, Shaun had told some of his co-workers where he parked it so they went and decorated it.

Our weekend in Logan was really nice. It was nice to finally be married and to be able to start our lives together. We spent the weekend at the Providence Inn, which is like the Anniversary Inn. It was a nice little getaway!
